Splashy Hi

Hello again! I have another card to share with you today, but hopefully I will be back sharing some of the scrapbook pages I was able to put together earlier this week.

It's a late night tonight (I know, it's only 9:00, but my 5 year old is still up, and my husband just got done working (officially) for the night. We just got back from a family get together as my uncle and aunt are heading back to Georgia tomorrow (via Tennessee, but hey, close enough). So I thought I'd stop in and make a quick post while Daddy is reading to him. He's so into Henry Huggins this week.

I love this image and how it screams summer! She's from Tiddly Inks. I colored her in with Prismacolor pencils with OMS. I wish you could see her goggles better - they're filled in with Crystal Effects, but it was so sunny when I took this picture, and didn't realize it until much later when I uploaded it. Oh well, you get the idea:)

Well, I'm off to help with teeth brushing!
Have a great night and happy stamping!

Beachy Breezes

I so wish I was sending you this from the beach, but although it FEELS like we're at the beach with 93 degrees in the forecast today, I am still in Ohio. That's ok, though. Here's a little card I made to share with you that brings the beach to me!

What do you think about the embossed image? I saw Melina do this on her blog, and I just had to try it.

I used the sketch from Card Patterns.
I also entered this card in this week's the Pink Elephant challenge - 3 layers, 2 die cuts and a ribbon.

Supplies are image by SU colored in with watercolor pencils and blender pen. Cuttlebug embossing folder, nestabilities, Kaiser pearls (a great buy - you can find them in the Paper Jewels store!), PTI ribbon. Paper is SU Barely Banana, DCWV blue and DP is from the Mediterranean stack.

Thanks for looking and happy stamping!

VSD Challenge #1

Our blog group has a virtual stamp day (weekend) this past weekend. I didn't get as much time to participate as I would have liked, but I did get to this first challenge.

The challenge was to make a card using acetete. Here's a tutorial and some samples from the SCS gallery.

I thought I had some acetate on hand, but when I went to make my card, I couldn't find it. So, pulled a clear box out of my trash can (paper only, don't worry!) and used my Nestabilities to cut out a circle. I used Stazon black ink for the sentiment stamped directly on the acetate. I stamped the other image on white paper and mounted it behind the acetate. I will definitely be using this technique more often - thanks for the challenge, April!

Flowers For You!

Good morning! I can't seem to get moving very well here today. It's supposed to be nice out, though. 83 and sunny! I'll be cleaning today, but I may have to sneak out here and there.

This little guy is from the Flower Power set (CC Designs) and you can find him in the Paper Jewels store. I just love the simplicity of this image, and he's pretty cute too:)

I used the sketch from Papertake for this challenge.

Supplies copics, buttons from PTI, SU DP, and SU cardstock in More Mustard and Eggplant Envy. I also used Stickles on the flower centers.

Dragon Luck

Hello! It's Friday already! We have a rather busy weekend coming up, but I wanted to share my card for my dad for Father's day with you. I just got him the other day and I couldn't wait to get him inked up and colored in. You can find him in the Paper Jewels store - his name is Dragon Luck, and there are many beautiful ones to choose from:)

I used the sketch from Critter Sketch Challenge Blog for this card.

Give Thanks

Good evening! Today was a crazy day! We went shopping for a Father's day gift, and then went to our local town fair tonight. Fun times, except the carousel made me dizzy. What's going on with that? I know it's been a few years since I've ridden any sort of ride, but I used to LOVE roller coasters etc. Am I really getting that old?

Anyways, here's a little card to share with you. I love how this turned out. I used SCS sketch 49 for the layout.

Supplies are SU papers in So Saffron, Close to Cocoa, Certainly Celery and Cottage Wall DP. Stamps are SU Pocket Silhouettes and Clear Dollar Stamps. Pearls are from Kaiser and you can find them in the Paper Jewels store (link on my sidebar). Ink is also SU Certainly Celery and Memento brown. Circles were cut with Nestabilities and ribbon is Offrey I think.

Need Some Chicken Soup?

I love Sundays! We had church this morning, and now the boys are off to Home Depot, the little one is (supposed to be) napping, and I thought I'd share this little card with you before doing the dishes:)

This little mouse it so cute, how could he not brighten your day? I put together this card from a card kit (thanks, AnnMarie!)

I used SCS sketch 183 for the layout, and added SU Barely Banana and Lovely Lilac cardstock. I also used some clear Stickles.

Birthday Boy

I'm SOO glad for this warmer weather! It's been so nice here lately except for a few chilly, rainy days this week. That being said, it's been hard to find some crafty time and my mojo has definitely suffered! Little girl decided to cooperate with her morning nap the other day, so my son and I headed down to the play room/craft room for a few minutes of craftiness. I actually got 3 cards made too! (In between being "served" "food" from the "restaurant".) Too cute though.

This little guy is Balloon Trevor. He's part of the CC Designs Sugarplums collection - you can find them in the Paper Jewels store. I think he's just right for my young cousin's birthday coming up later this month!

I used Splitcoast sketch challenge SC179 for this layout.

Supplies are SU cardstock in Barely Banana, some DCWV cardstock, and I think both DP's are also DCWV. The image is colored in with Copic markers, I used a white opaque Gelly Roll Pen to highlight the balloon, dots are Martha Stewart, I also used a SU scallop punch and Nestabilities for the circles.

Monkey Wishes

One good thing about the rain is that we get to play inside - which means we got some crafty time in today! I LOVE this monkey! I received him in a card kit swap on SCS. I had colored him in a while ago, but just got to put him together for a card. I love this paper too - so cute! I colored him in with Prismacolor pencils, softened with OMS. I also added the flower, and Kaisercraft rhinestones from the Paper Jewels store.

I used sketch SC208 for this card from Splitcoast.

Cupcake, Anyone?

I'm baaccckkk!!! Ok, that looks (and sounds) a little creepy. Sorry:) Anyways, I'm back for the month of June sharing my Paper Jewels creations.

Yes, I know I love my cupcake stamps, and this one is no exception! She is too adorable and perfect, I think, for a birthday card! Her name is Cupcake Kiki and you can find her in the Paper Jewels store.

I used the gatefold technique for this card.

Supplies are Su cardstock in Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip and Rose Red. I used paper from the DCWV Sweet Stack. Other supplies are SU scallop punch, Prismacolor Pencils, OMS, Kaisercraft Rhinestones (from the Paper Jewels store also) and Stickles. The sentiment was from my stash, but I don't know where it's from.

What I've Been Up To

So it's been a few days since I've shared anything crafty, but I'm back! It's been a zoo here lately it seems, and while I've been able to get some images colored in here and there, no finished products yet. But I have been having lots of fun making these little hair bows (so far mainly for my daughter and a couple friends!) I decided to sell some of them on my Etsy shop (see side bar if you're interested please:)).

I came across a tutorial to make these adorable ribbon flowers, and just added them to alligator clips using buttons in the top picture, and flowers in the bottom.

I hope you enjoyed these! I'll be back Friday for sure with my Paper Jewels post. Stay tuned!

I've Been Trying...

to post this for 3 days now, but I keep getting distracted! So, here it is! I made this card a while back, but just hadn't shared it. I have to keep this short and sweet because my little one is now screaming because she doesn't want to nap. {SIGH}. I hope you enjoy!

Image is from the Greeting Farm colored in with Copic markers and highlighted with gold Stickles. Other supplies are brad - SU, scallop punch - SU, 2 Cuttlebug embossing folders, Nestabilities circles, and brown satin ribbon and crocheted flowers from my stash. Paper is SU Ruby Red, Cameo Coral, and Chocolate Chip.

Baby Wishes

Has it really been over a week since I've posted? I don't know where the time (or my crafty mojo) has gone. I did have time to play in my craft room yesterday (while my baby girl actually took a new - TWO naps in her crib!) Fortunately, my 5-year old LOVES to play with my punches and stuff while I craft.

I made this little card for a friend of mine who just had a little boy. I used materials from a card kit I had in my stash to put it together. I kept it pretty simple this time, but I love it. The baby charm is adorable:)

I wanted to share with you this card I made for the Paper Jewels May challenge - which is a color challenge. It's to use the colors navy, yellow and wine. This was a challenge for me as these are not my go-to colors, but I really like them together after all!

Flower Power

Good morning! I am so excited for today - lots to do but it's supposed to be 81 here. Considering it was in the 50's a couple days ago, that's something!

I was so excited to play with this little monkey - he's from the Paper Jewels store - from CC Designs. He's from the Flower Power as part of a set of 3. The rhinestones are Kaisercraft, you can find them in the Paper Jewels store too:) I colored him in with Prismacolor pencils.

I also used the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday for this card.

Sparkly Wishes

So I have to tell you, taking this picture was a feat in itself. I REALLY need to figure out a better way to take pictures! I sometimes take them indoors in a white box I put together, but since it's been nicer out, I've been taking them outside on our deck. Well, I had the card all set up and went to open the camera, and then WOOSH. The wind blew and with it went my card towards the creek that runs behind the house. So I pleaded with my dear husband to rescue it - and he did:) So thanks to him, here is my card I made this morning.

I love this little cutie from the Stamping Boutique. The sparkly backgrounds are what really caught my eye to set these apart from other images.

I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches for this card.

Supplies are SU cardstock in Lovely Lilac, Bashful Blue and Almost Amethyst. I can't remember who the DP is from. Image is Stamping Boutique colored in with Prismacolor pencils and softened with OMS. Other supplies are misc ribbon, Stickles, Bella donuts.

Chirpy for Sunshine Sunday

Is it really Sunday already? What a crazy weekend! We've been debating back and forth whether or not to buy a new fridge. I've been throwing away all our vegetables and thawing our milk as it's been freezing the past two weeks. Then I happened to look in the other day and realized that the temperature control had been cranked to coldest and that's why it's been freezing everything. So here's the dilemma: we've already done all the research and shopping, we shockingly have the money set aside for once, and it's an old fridge on its last leg anyway. Who knows. We'll see:)

Enough boring you here, on to the good stuff! Here is my card for Sunshine's Stamps this week. This little guy is Chirpy. I thought he'd be perfect for a get well card for my uncle who just had emergency bypass surgery last week.

I made this into a shaped card for our Sunshine challenge over on SNR. It's fun, you should try it if you get a chance! It was pretty fun to try - I used a Nestabilities die to cut out the card.

Supplies are image by Sunshine's Stamps colored in with Prismacolor pencils and softened with OMS (trying something new for me). DP by DCWV, cardstock by SU in Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise and So Saffron. Sentiment PTI Mixed Messages. Rhinestones are Kaisercraft from Paper Jewels.

Daydreaming...

Ah...this girl looks like she's having a great daydream, doesn't she? With the warmer weather coming, I love sneaking out on to our top deck with a cup of coffee, but so far, it's not been warm enough but a couple of times, and the children are usually requesting my attention. Oh well, so I will color this image in and enjoy the day vicariously through Mimosas Cafe;) Please check out the Paper Jewels blog if you get a chance for some inspiring creations by the other DT members.

I participated in a few challenges for this card:
Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge - something for the girls
The Pink Elephant - the sketch

Supplies are DP - DCWV, cardstock SU Certainly Celery, Rose Romance, Bliss Blue. Flowers are made with a SU punch, and a misc sm flower punch, distressed with Rose Red ink, crinkled and accented with Kaisercraft rhinestones (which you can find at the Paper Jewels store;)). I also used clear Stickles to accent the drink and an EK Success border punch.

Sunny Bunny in the Garden

Good evening! I wanted to share this card I made the other day with you. I love the DP with this image - it makes me want to garden, and I'm not much of a gardener! The one year I planted lots of flowers and such, the bunnies ate half of them, and something dug up the other half. It's a nice thought though:)

I participated in a few challenges for this card:
Crazy for Challenges - the sketch
Paper Sundaes - no people
Pile it On - Spring card
Sunshine's Stamps Show & Tell - garden theme

Supplies are image (Gardner Bunny) by Sunshine's Stamps colored with Prismacolor pencils. Cardstock by SU Only Orange, Certainly Celery, blue cs is DCWV and DP is also DCWV. Other supplies are Kaisercraft pearls, Nestabilities (sentiment), Mixed Messages sentiment from PTI, misc ribbon and stripes Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Coo Coo for Sunshine Sunday

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend! It's been pretty low-key here. Last night we celebrated my sister's birthday. Today, just church and then we'll see from there. It's really cold here too, so we won't be playing outside. Hmm...I might just have to sneak down to my craft table later:)

Today is my post for Sunshine's Stamps. I used one of the new spring images this week. This is Coo Coo - isn't he cute? I'm getting low on birthday cards, so that's why this one ended up being a birthday card. I love these colors together for a masculine card.

I used the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday this week.

Supplies are SU cardstock in Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery, Garden Green and DCWV paper from the Mediterranean Stack. Main image is Sunshine's Stamps colored in with Copics and highlighted with a white Gelly Roll pen. Ribbon and buttons are Papertrey Ink. The circles and ovals were cut with Nestabilities. Sentiment is also PTI. I can't remember where the bling came from.

Sweet Pea

I am so glad today is Saturday. My son was excited because that means Daddy is off work today. I am enjoying a rare moment of quiet as the two of them are at my mother-in-law's fixing her lawnmower, and the little one is taking her morning nap. Woohoo!

I thought I'd share this card with you that I made yesterday. I've been coloring images in the evenings while watching tv with my DH, and I was able to put this one together in no time at all! I love this little pea from Pixie Dust Studio. I actually made this card for their weekly challenge - to use green. I also used the sketch from Cardabilities challenge blog too.

Supplies are SU cardstock in Pale Plum, Eggplant Envy and Garden Green. DP is DCWV. Image is Pixie Dust Studio colored in with Crayola Twistables colored pencils and blended with a SU blender pen. I have to get something better to blend with though, but it worked ok. Stamping on the plum paper is SU Memory of the Heart, sentiment is PTI Mixed Messages. I also used a Fiskars border punch and a prima flower.

Balmy Breezes

I love the beach! I love the sand, the sun, the sounds of the ocean. Unfortunately it's too few and far between I actually get to go there! Our Crafty Critter blog group help and Virtual Stamp Day this weekend, and part of that included several challenges, the first of which included creating a card from an inspiration picture.

Some inspiration, huh? The other part of the recipe included using only one embellishment, using a crimper somewhere and using no coloring - inks only. So this is what I came up with!

Supplies are SU cardstock in Creamy Caramel, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and DCWV blue cardstock. Inks are SU Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery. Stamps are SU also - Balmy Breezes and Stipple Shells. I also used a paper crimper, scalloped border punch (SU), corner punch and a Dew Drop.

Sunshine Sunday - Happy Birthday!

Well, it's Sunday again! Time flies by so fast lately is seems. My little guy has been sick all week, and we had a baby shower Saturday for my sister, but that was about it! I'm hoping to get some good crafty time in later today too.

But on to the post...today is my post for Sunshine's stamps. Here is Happy Chick again - she (he?) is proving to be a very versatile image! I made this card for our bi-weekly challenge over on SNR - if you have time, please join us and play along and you could maybe win an image! The theme this week is to create a birthday card with a fancy fold. I made a flap card, slightly modified to be a little wider.

Supplies are image by Sunshine's Stamps colored in with Crayola colored pencils (trying something different here!). Dew Drops, misc oval punches, Stickles, SU Crystal Effects, Nestabilities circles, Creative Memories cutting system with circles (to cut the flap), Cuttlebug embossing folder Swiss Dots. Paper is SU Mauve Mist, Rose Red and Rose Romance, DCWV DP.

Mimosa Chicken

Hello! It's Paper Jewels Friday! This little one is Mimosa Chicken. I was excited to use her for a card because some friends recently hatched some baby chicks, and they were so adorable! Anyways, this image made me think of them.

Mimosa Card Purse

From time to time I find a project that just tickles me to make. I don't know why, I guess it just strikes my fancy here and there. This was one of them. It's a card purse, and don't let it imtimidate you - it's SO easy to put together! My aunt will be getting this for her birthday later today with some cards added inside. I was able to (tightly) fit 5 cards and envelopes in here.

Supplies are SU cardstock in Almost Amethyst, Lovely Lilac, So Saffron and Certainly Celery. I can't remember who made the DP, I just have a little left in my stash. Image is Bildmalarna Mimosa Tea which you can get in the Paper Jewels store. Other Supplies are Stickles, Dew Drops, a SU flower punch, some oval punches, circle and scallop punches, and misc ribbon from my stash.

A Little Bird Told Me

Wow - is the week really over? I can't believe Easter is already almost here! So much to do this weekend still. The Easter bunny always comes a day early in our house (try explaining that to a 5 year old) because Easter Sunday is always crazy between church, my husband's family, and then mine. So when my son was super little, we started celebrating the basket/egg hunt part of Easter a day early.

I did use this little guy to make a card for Easter (probably for my son). It says Happy Easter on the inside, but you can't see that.

This card is for 2 challenges - Mojo Monday (the sketch) and Cupcake Craft challenges, which is to make a spring/Easter card with chocolate on it. Sunshine's Stamps is sponsoring the Cupcake challenge this week, so there's a little time left if you want to play along and maybe win some goodies:)

Thanks for looking and happy Easter!
