Competing Princesses Challenge Card - Round 1

Good evening!  This is my second post for today, please scroll down for my Critter Challenge post.

Our blog group, the Paper Princesses, decided to have a friendly little challenge.  This is round 1 of 3.  Each round, the hostesses for both teams send out a card kit to each member, all the same for each team.  Every member makes a card using the supplies just to see what everyone comes up with and challenge our creativity.  It's really fun!

This is the card I put together.  It's a little out of my comfort zone, but I love the rustic-ness of it, and the colors are great together!  Thanks for a great kit, Marsha!

Critter Monday - Sentimental

Good morning!  It's Critter Monday and that means lots of challenge fun!  Today's challenge is to use a sentiment on the front of your card - it can be one word, or the focus of the card, but you must use a sentiment somewhere on the front.

Our sponsor for the month of February is Robyn's Fetish - be sure to play along for a chance to win some freebies!

I love how this turned out - I adore just about anything paired with brown, but this green turned out really great with it here!

Supplies are SU cardstock Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery.  DP is DCWV Garden Stack.  Frames are Nestibilities, pearls are Kaiser, felt is PTI cut with a flower die also PTI.  Stamps are from Sweet and Sassy stamps stamped in SU Certainly Celery, and Memento Rich Cocoa.

A Breath of Fresh Air

Good evening!  I know, I usually post in the mornings, but today was a rather long day, so here I am!

It's been really cold here in Ohio, and then we had a short blast of spring last week, followed by 8 inches of snow last night.  Go figure!

This image is so cheery and spring-y, isn't it pretty?  It's from The Stamping Boutique.

I am entering this card in several challenges:
Papertake Weekly - the sketch
Crazy 4 Challenges - use dies on card
The Shabby Tea Room - buttons and bows and inspiration

Supplies are image from The Stamping Boutique colored in with Copics and highlighted with black and clear Stickles.  Paper is SU Certainly Celery, So Saffron and Chocolate Chip.  DP is DCWV Garden Party stack.  Buttons are misc from  my stash as well as the ribbon (I used the Bow Easy to tie the bow.)  Embossing is Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

It's Time to Hop With the Stamping Boutique!

We are hosting a "Spring Fever" blog hop this month! We're all sick of the snow and would love a little sunshine and flowers to pop in so we decided to bring them on ourselves! And bring it we did!

You'll have to make sure you hop to every design team blog. Make sure you post on EACH blog post for TSB to be eligible for the prize, our 4 new spring images.

You will need to start at Amanda's blog (www.colouringourworld.blogspot.com) and work your way through the group! At the Stamping Boutique, there will be an Inlinkz where you can post your comment after you have completed hop! From this list, the winner will be chosen randomly!

The hop will run from February 19th 12AM EST and you will have until February 20th 6PM EST. After that time, the comments will be tallied and the winner will be randomly picked.

The Design Team used a sketch this month for our creations. And here is my take on the sketch!

Baby Girl Page

Good morning!  I have another addition to share from my daughter's album.  Here are a few more pics from soon after bringing her home.

I used 2 words from a LOTW (letter of the word) swap for the title.  I love this purple  polka dot ribbon too!  Can't remmeber who the paper is from, but the mats are SU Pretty in Pink.  Journal box is cut using Nesties (labels 11 I think).

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello again!  This is my second post for the day, so please scroll down for my Critter post:)

Happy Valentine's day!  Be sure to give the ones you love an extra hug today:)  We've all been hit with some nasty bug here, so while we are on the mend, we will be celebrating our Valentines when we all feel a little better!

But here is a little card to share with you using another lovely Stamping Boutique image.  I thought I'd go out on a limb and use a different color scheme (for me anyway) and I really love how it turned out!  I found this scrap of pretty toile DP in my scrap box and everything fell into place.  I love it when that happens!

The Stamping Boutique is sponsoring this week's Sunday Sketch and Stash Challenge.  The theme is to either follow their sketch, or create a card with no corners.  Be sure to play if you can to win some freebies!

Supplies are SU cardstock in So Saffron, Bashful Blue, and Brocade Blue.  Ribbon is SU also.  Image is Stamping Boutique Audrey with a Heart colored in with Copic markers and accented with Stickles.  Pearls are Kaiser.  I also used oval Nesties, a corner rounder and Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  Flower is handmade using a scalloped circle punch, crimper, and a jeweled brad.

Critter Monday - Sketch and Pink

Good morning!  It's Monday and that means another challenge for the fabulous (yes, I'm a little biased!) Critter Challenge Blog.  Please be sure to play if you can for a chance to win some freebies from Robyn's Fetish, who is our sponsor this month.  The only twist to the sketch designed by our own April, is to use the color pink!

Image is from Robyn's Fetish colored in with Copics and highlighted with Crystal Stickles.  Paper is SU Rose Red, Brocade Blue and Chocolate Chip.  I can't remember who the DP is from, but the pearls are Kaiser and the flower and ribbon is misc from my stash.  Sentiment is Stamping Bella embossed with chocolate embossing powder.  The triangles were cut with a square punch and the hand-cut into quarters.

My Family

Good morning again!  This is another 2-page layout I put together for my daughter's album.  These are some family pics from the hospital.  Oh she was little - it's hard to believe because she's 16 months now!

This layout was made using a pre-made border set I received in a swap.  I added the pictures, photo mats (Debbie Mum), photo corners (MS punch), and the epoxy title stickers (Debbie Mum I think).  Quick and easy!

Something Different

Good morning!  I hope you all had a nice weekend.  It always goes so quickly, doesn't it?  The big kid is back to school, so it's just me and the little one right now.  Although I hear a mountain of laundry calling me to be folded but I'll get to that in a minute!

I needed a couple of birthday gifts for 2 aunts of mine this weekend, so I made these bracelets for them.  I told you that I love everything crafty!  I don't get too fancy, but can do some basic jewelry.

These are made with mostly glass beads and memory bracelet wire.  The top picture is pretty good, but the bottom one is a little harder to see.  It has purples, silvers, clear beads and white pearls.

The Stamping Boutique Digi Day!

Today was digi day over at the Stamping Boutique.  There were some great challenges!  I was able to do 2 of the 3 challenges.

This first card was for the challenges to doodle hearts somewhere on your project.  This was hard for me as I am not a doodler!  But that's ok because it is something different and I kind of like how it turned out!  The adorable cupcake is from The Stamping Boutique - I can see this being a great image for many occasions!

I used the fabulous sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.
I am also entering this in the Papertake Weekly Challenge - anything goes + flowers.

This second card is for the challenge to make a Valentine's card but using NO red or pink.  I found this DP in my stash and thought it fit perfectly!  There are even little purple hearts in the DP.  It makes me happy.  This is image is "I love you this much Cynthia."  So cute!

Welcome to the Nest

Hello!  I hope you are all off to a great Saturday!  I can't believe we are at the end of January already.  Boy, did it fly by!

I am so proud of this layout.  I just love these papers and the way it turned out!  This is another set for my daughter's album.  These are pictures from the day we brought her home from the hospital.  My favorite picture here is the one of my son at the bottom.  The expression on his face from his sister crying is priceless!

Supplies are from a Colorbok kit I got from Walmart.  I added a journal stamp (unknown) cut out with Nesties.  Papers I added are DCWV from the pastels pack and SU Rose Romance and Barely Banana.  Buttons are also from my stash.

Birthday Boy

Good morning!  I have another card to share with you today - another "boy" card.  I say it time and time again, but for me it is really hard to do boy cards - probably because I am a girly-girl at heart!  So I usually have quite a few girl cards in my stash, but not so many boy ones.  I am happy with how this turned out though - love the image from the Stamping Boutique and the sign is blank on the image, I just added a sentiment stamp (Mixed Messages from PTI - it fit perfectly!)

The Stamping Boutique is sponsoring the Crazy Challenge this week and the theme is birthdays!  You can easily make a birthday card to enter for your chance to earn some free goodies!

Supplies are SU cardstock in Ballet Blue and Bashful Blue, SO Saffron, and Certainly Celery.  DP is DCWV.  Dots are Martha Stewart, ribbon is Bazzill.  I also used a Spica clear glitter pen, Star Dust Stickles, a Cuttlebug embossing folder, and Nestibilitles.  Image is Stamping Boutique colored in with Copics.
