Last Post for the year...

I can't believe 2009 is coming to a close! It flew by so fast, and another year is upon us! I had to share one last post before ringing in the new year. This cute little duo is for a friend who just had a baby this week. So hug your family and have a happy new year!

Materials are SU cardstock in Perfect Plum and Rose Romance and Certainly Celery. The Bella is colored in with Prismas and Bic MarkIts and highlighted with a glitter pen. The DP is DCWV, and the sentiment is PTI.

SSS36 - Get Well

Hello! I'm still in the holiday mode, and the last thing I wanted to do today was clean. So aside from washing some dishes, we pretty much hung around the house, played Legos, and spent some time in the craft room while Daddy entertained with the Wii.

I made this card for my Aunt who is having outpatient surgery tomorrow. I thought she might need a little pick-me-up this week.

I also used the sketch from the Sweet Stop (SSS36).

Stamp is Get Wella Bella. The image is colored in the Prismas, Bic Mark-Its and Martha Stewart glitter markers. The buttons are PTI. The base cardstock is SU Bliss Blu, the rest is from my scrap pile. I did sand the edges of the image background with sandpaper.

Winter Wonderland

Here's wishing for a winter wonderland this Christmas! Although I think we're supposed to get rain...

This is my card for Tuesday Morning Sketches (#25). So simple, but I will definitely be using this sketch again! Supplies are SU cardstock in Going Grey and Rose Red, and DCWV snowflake paper. I am loving the nontraditional Christmas/winter colors I've been seeing around, and wanted to make something with them. The image is from Softpencil (not required, but I had to use one of their images - so cute!) is colored it with Bic Mark Its and Prisma markers. Accents are Martha Stewart snowflake punch, clear Stickles, misc bling and dew drops from my stash.

Thanks for looking and wishing you a Merry Christmas!

Challenges to Brighten the Day

Today was just not a good day. I haven't been feeling well myself, and my son is also sick. There's so much to do with Christmas just a couple days away and not enough time. So what's a girl to do? CRAFT THERAPY!

I made this cheery little card for the Mojo Monday Challenge (a sketch) and also the Corrosive Challenge (use bling!).

Supplies are Su cardstock Rose Red, Old Olive, misc DP from my scrap pile. PTI twill ribbon, misc bling, Clear and black Stickles, Cuttlebug embossing folder and the adorable little owl is from Pink Cat Studio.
I hope he brightens your day too! Now I am off to go wrap some presents!

Altered Calendars

I am so not ready for Christmas this year! Although I do have all my shopping done (yesterday!), my to-do list is endless. I have a few homemade gifts left to do, and here is one I thought to share with you.

Need a last minute gift idea? This is so easy! I just took a store-bought pocket calendar, pulled it out of the plastic covering, cut a piece of DP to fit over the front and the back, and embellished away! The numbers are cut using the Cricut, and the flowers and brads are from my stash.

More Christmas and a Sketch

Good (late) evening. I find a few quiet moments that are rare lately to share this card with you! This little guy from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is SO adorable! I decided to use him for their challenge (SSS34), and also a My Scrapbooking Supplies challenge. The Sweet Stop challenge was based on their sketch, and the Scrapbooking challenge was to use red, green and gray.

Supplies are SU cardstock - Garden Green, Real Red and Going Gray. The image is colored in with Bic Mark-It markers, and highlighted with clear ice Stickles. I used 2 nesting punches for the sentiment and popped it up with dimensionals. The ribbon and bling are misc from my stash and the background is embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Crafty Critters VSD

These are my cards for the Crafty Critters Virtual Stamping Day. Our first challenge was to make two Christmas cards. The first one to make a monochromatic card, and the second was to use paper piecing. So here are my two cards!

CCC #14/Corrosive Challenge

I love to do challenges! This was a good one too - it was actually hard to use mostlyl white on a card. This is for the Crafty Critter blog group. The challenge was LSC249 on SCS. Also, I used the sketch for the Corrosive Blog challenge. Basically, use all white, no coloring, with the exception of using one color of ink. I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

Supplies are silver embossing powder, misc bling, dew drop, Martha Stewart snowflake punch, cuttlebug embossing folders. Stamps are PTI Tree Trimming Trio and Mixed Messages.

Two by Two, Part 4

Final set of cards! I love Riley/Sophie, and this image is adorable. I absolutely love the DP that came with this kit too. The colors are so pretty together.

The image is colored with Bic Mark-Its and Copics. These ones are pretty simple, but I think they turned out ok!

Sorry this is so short tonight, but I am running out of steam! I hope you enjoyed these cards:) I'm sure I'll be back with more before you know it!

Delightful Sketch #13

Hi there! Today was a rather long day. We started with swim lessons and ended with my son's preschool Christmas program. He did excellent by the way - we bribed heavily! But it was really too cute to see him actually get up on stage with the other kids and participate (last year we didn't make it up to the stage and he was very upset).

But I did find some time to make it to my craft table and make this card to share with you. It's for Delightful Sketches #13.

Colors are SU More Mustard, Not Quite Navy. DP is DCWV. The image is Digital Delights, and the sentiment is PTI Mixed Messages. The cute little bear is colored in with SU and Prismacolor markers. The brim of the hat is accented with clear Stickles, and ribbon is PTI and some misc bling.

Two by Two, Part 3

Here is my third installment for the card kit duos! I LOVE this paper. It makes me smile. I really enjoyed putting these two cards together.

The supplies came from my secret sister from SCS again. I used Bic Mark-Its to color in the image, highlighted the cake with a clear sparkle Gelly Roll pen, and highlighted the flower in "birthday" with Fruit Punch Stickles.

For the second card, same as above, plus I ran the ribbon through the Xyron sticker machine, and popped up the sentiment on dimensionals.

See you next with with #4:)

Crafty Critters Challenge #13

Phew this was a long weekend! Nice though. The baby actually slept in her crib instead of her sling for the afternoon nap, so I got some nice craft time in while my 4 year old played next to me.

Challenge #13! This one was very neat. I've never tried to make a Split Negative card. Check out the tutorial, but it really is easy!

I chose to make a christmas card with black, white and SU Old Olive. The stamp set is PTI. I just used black and white embossing powder and filled in the ornaments with olive and silver. The glitter is a neat trick (thanks Jenny!) using double stick tape to adhere.

Two By Two, Part 2

Here is the second installment of my card kit pairs. This little guy just cracks me up. One of them is for my little cousin for his birthday.

Supplies came from a great secret sister I had on SCS. He is colored in with my Bic Mark-Its and highlighted with a Gelly Roll clear glitter pen. Both images are on dimensionals. I ran the ribbon through a Xyron 1.5" sticker maker for the adhesive.

Dino Borders

Hello! It's a crazy week this week, but I wanted to share one thing with you before the holiday. This border set is for a swap on SCS - boy themed. I just adore these cute dinos. They are from My Grafico digital stamps. The paper is all SU except for the DP which is DCWV. Buttons and ribbon are misc from my stash (I think I got the buttons from Wal-Mart in the sewing section - great deal!). Dinos are hightlighted with Stickles. The journal stamp is embossed with white embossing powder. Just need add paper and pictures to create my scrapbook layout!

Crafty Critters Challenge #12

This challenge was a tough one for me! We were to make a backpack box with a children's theme. I definitely have to say although this is an adorable project, I may not make one of these again! I might though, just to see if I can do it a little better:)

I did try a really cool background - I saw someone do it on HGTV for a wall, and I thought it would translate well to stamping. I took a stamp pad and gently inked up bubble wrap - yes BUBBLE WRAP - and applied it to the cardstock for the background. Here I used white craft ink, but it's a little hard to see in this picture. Cardstock and inks are all Stampin Up - Green Galore, Gable Green and Chocolate Chip. Stamps are SU's Toy Box. Eyelets are SU Bold Brights and ribbon is misc from my stash. I did highlight the stars and space ship with clear Stickles (although I think I missed one of the dots on the spaceship - oops!).

Two by Two, Part 1

I am so glad to say, my computer is back! It's been a long month, but I do have some goodies to share with you. I been playing with card kits again, and decided to do a run of posts featuring two cards made from the same kits.

Just some ideas on how to use the same supplies two different ways. Both images are colored in with my Bic Mark-Its and highlighted with Stickles.

Sweet Friend

Hi all! I'm trying to catch up on some emails today, so I thought I'd stop by and post a card for you!

This card was created from (surprise) another card kit. I like that the colors are a little different from my normal schemes. I used supplies from the kit, plus some scraps from my stash.

Corrosive Challenge #37

I stumbled across Janet's blog this week and I had to play along. Great challenge!

Here is the card I made for the sketch. I have to say I love how this came out. Very rarely do I make a card that I fall in love with, but for some reason, this just tickles me. I used a digi stamp from Pink Cat Studios and colored her in with my Bic Mark-Its. Papers are SU So Saffron, Blissful Blue and I also used Green Galore ink. Sentiment is from Papertrey Ink (Mixed Messages). The flowers are from a punch, and the background it embossed with the swiss dots embossing folder. DP is DCWV, I think from the Glitter stack.

Tree Trimming Trio

I can't believe Christmas is fast approaching! Thanksgiving is less than 3 weeks away! I recently got this stamp set from Papertrey Ink and I just love it! I couldn't resist creating a few Christmas creations with it.

For the bookmark I used the words from the set and staggered them on a clear stamp block to create the background. I sponged over it with So Saffron ink. I filled in the garland with gold Stickles, and the star I went over with clear Stickles. The colors are all SU - So Saffron, Ruby Red and Always Artichoke.

The card I pretty much used all the same supplies as above.

Dino-Mite

Hello! This little guy is so cute! I couldn't resist. This card is for a swap on SCS - all about boys. I got the little dino from My Grafico who has some great digital stamps. Paper is SU Green Galore and Tempting Turquoise. The DP is from my scrap stash. He is colored in with my Bic Mark It markers and highlighted with Stickles. The buttons and ribbon are just misc from my stash too. I hope you like him too!

Baby Announcements

This is the announcement I made for our baby girl. I am so excited about these! I love how they turned out. Now to finish making them and get them sent out...:)

The fold for this card is based on the flap card, but I used a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of cardstock. The top is cut using the Creative memories circle cutters. I used my Cuttlebug to emboss just the top of the card. The booties are highlighted with a Gelly Roll glitter pen. I printed the inside on my computer and cut to size. The finished product is 4 1/4" square.

Crafty Critters Challenge #10

Time for another challenge! I had fun with this card. We were to make a card with the following criteria:

1. Use SCS sketch 246
2. Make your card a fall theme
3. Use the color purple
4. Use atleast 1 embellishment

I used SU cardstock in More Mustard, Old Olive, Close to Cocoa and DCWV fall stack paper. The brads are SU, and the stamp is SU Fall Whimsy and watercolored in with a blender pen and ink. I used a glitter pen to highlight the pumpkin. The background is embossed with my cuttlebug swirls folder.

Last of the Card Kits

So I think this is truly the last of my card stash I've left to share with you. I guess that means I need to get crafting! These are the last three cards I've crafted from card kits. The last one is particularly neat - I think the gal who put the kit together used her Cuttlebug to emboss the foil, but it was a sticker too. Very neat!

I promise I will have more soon... Thanks for looking and happy stamping!

Dots and More

Whew - it's been a long week! I really wanted to get a post in though. There hasn't been much time for crafting this week, but I did make 2 cards I will try to get pics of later to post in another day or two.

But for now, here are two more cards I've previously put together from card kits. I love the dot papers! The House Mouse card is colored in with watercolor pencils and then softened with a blender pen. The second card is colored in with SU markers and accented with Stickles for the sprinkles.

More Bellas

It's been crazy here adjusting to the new baby. It's been a precious time though! I still haven't made it down to the craft area yet, but I did save some stuff back to post that I did before she came!

These are 2 cards I put together from a birthday card kit. I love the colors of the DP and accents. I colored the images in with my Bic MarkIt markers.

Stamping and Wood

I cleaned up my craft area the other day and found these two wooden pieces (unfinished) so I decided now would be a good time to finish them!

This was a plain unfinished wooden switchplate cover. I sealed it with a clear acrylic sealer and then added a few coats of white acrylic craft paint. Once that dried, I put dabs of the purple and pink acrylic paints on a paper plate and then laid a small piece of plain muslin over top, then dabbed the stamps on top. The muslin allows only a little paint through so you can get a cleaner image. I took the back end of a paint brush to make the flower centers. When all was dry, I sprayed a satin clear coat over top.

While I did not stamp on this second piece, I did use some stamp supplies! It was a plain wooded flower with the hook attached, prepared same as the switchplate. The paint is just brushed on though. The center of the flower is accented with clear Stickles, and again the whole thing was sprayed with the satin sealer when dried.

Thanks for looking!

Cute Little Basket

I saw this basket on AnnMarie's blog, and I just had to make one! Isn't is cute? Check out her link for the instructions.

I made this for a birthday present and thought I could maybe fill it with some chocolates or something. It was made from an 8x8 piece of cardstock (SU Mellow Moss, So Saffron). I used the flower stamp from SU Something to celebrate and the birthday sentiment from a SU birthday set. Ink is chocolate chip, colored in with watercolor pencils. Flowers are highlighted with clear Stickles.

I am working on a 12x12 sized on for Christmas goodies for my neighbors.
Thanks for the great idea AnnMarie!

Simply Sweet

Just waiting for this baby to come! Although, if the tech was wrong and it's not a girl....what can you do?

I made this simple and sweet 12x12 layout for a baby pages swap on SCS. I decided to go general for the girl theme, and pulled the "Sweet Pea" from the New Arrival Cricut cartridge. The background papers, dots, and flower cut outs are all DCWV. The rest is SU Certainly Celery and Barely Banana. Buttons are misc, flowers with the white centers are punches and the sentiment is SU.
