Bookmarks

My fellow Crafty Critter Melanie hosted a bookmark swap on SCS, and these are the ones I made for my 2 spots. I had fun with these. I always enjoy making bookmarks, and read...well, used to read before little one #2.

For the first one, I used a Raisin Boat stamp, colored it in with SU watercolor pencils and blended with a blender pen. Paper is SU Certainly Celery and DCWV. I used Bella dots and Stickles to accent along with misc ribbon and large eyelet.

This second card I used a misc rubber stamp (sorry, don't know where it's from) embossed with white embossing powder. Not sure who the DP is from, but cardstock is SU black and Eggplant Envy. Ribbon and eyelet are misc, and the bling is Kaiser from the Paper Jewels store.

Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

CCC5

This was my first challenge for the Craft Critters blog group. It was also my first sketch challenge! We were to use sketch 49 from SCS, somewhere the color red, ribbon, and a stamp set we have not used in the last 3 months.

I embossed the butterfly with chocolate embossing powder. The sentiment is raised with dimensional dots (hard to see here).

Sweet Stuff

I've been doing a lot of things with my cupcake stamps lately. This is a simple 8x8 page I made a week or 2 ago.
I used the Winnie the Pooh Cricut cartridge for the title. I love the fonts on that one. Papers are SU Creamy Caramel, Real Red and Chocolate Chip. Same for the ink. The cupcake is from a clear set, can't remember the vendor. I embossed the cherry on the cupcake with chocolate embossing powder, and highlighted the cherry (colored red first) with clear Stickles.

Chocolate Magnet

This is a magnet I made this last week for a coffee swap. I LOVE this stamp set! It's Like it a Latte from SU (retired). Papers are close to cocoa, and creamy caramel. Ink is the same. I embossed the cup with chocolate embossing powder (yum!) and used my rectangle punch to make the holes for the ribbon. To make it a magnet, there are 2 small pieces of magnetic strip on the back.
Thanks for looking!

Some Cards

So, once again it's been a while since I've posted, but here I am! We've had a rough start to the year, but the weather is finally warming up and hopefully it will get better!

I haven't done much crafting lately, and I've also been lax on taking pics, but here are two cards I've made recently.

This first one I made needed to include embossing somewhere - so I embossed the background in silver from a clear stamp set I have from Pat Catan's or something. I used stickles to accent the candles on the cake too.

This second card I created from a card kit I made for a swap on SCS. I used blender pens to color in the image. I've just recently this last year started to use DP on my cards. I think it adds a nice touch, and if you have any leftovers from scrapping, it's a nice way to use them up since you don't need a lot for a card.

Thanks for looking and happy stamping!

Stippling & Embossing

This is a cute idea. It combines embossing and stippling. The components you need are:

You also need 2 stamps pads (not pictured) one light, one dark. I used SU Positively Pink and Chocolate Chip.

Start by stamping your Happy Birthday stamp in the dark color.

Then, ink your large stamp (butterfly here) with your versamark pad (or whatever clear ink you use to emboss.) Stamp image centered over the happy birthday.

Go ahead and add embossing powder (clear works best) and set the powder with your heat gun. Once the image cools, take your stipple brush and rub it on your lighter ink pad. Dab and swirl ink over your embossed image until you have the color saturation you want. The clear embossing will not take the ink and the image will pop out.

Then, mount your card front however you like, add any embellishments, and you are done!
